Sylvie is a relationship and marriage counsellor specialising in guiding individuals and couples through a spectrum of emotional struggles, helping them foster healthier, more compassionate, and fulfilling relationships. Sylvie is trained in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy. As a relationship and marriage counsellor, in our initial sessions, we'll embark on a deep exploration of your challenges, working together to devise a tailored plan to restore balance and vitality to your life. Drawing from my own journey through trauma, grief, and disappointment, I bring a profound empathy and understanding to each client interaction. Whether you're grappling with stress, anxiety, or decision-making dilemmas, I'm here to provide the support and guidance necessary to navigate towards a brighter tomorrow.
Individual therapy is a collaborative process between therapists and individuals receiving therapy. The purpose of therapy is to encourage positive change and enhance the quality of life. As a process-experiential therapist, Sylvie utilises approaches, such as Emotion-Focused Therapy and Emotional Freedom Techniques, which could be described as exposure therapy, with a somatic and cognitive aspect to the therapeutic process. Both EFT models advocate addressing our challenges head-on to process what pains us.
Sylvie offers personalised individual therapy sessions designed to help you explore your thoughts and feelings. She provides a safe and supportive environment where you can work through life's challenges, set goals, and achieve personal growth, while helping you navigate through difficult times with tailored strategies and compassionate guidance.
I bring a wide range of experience and qualifications to my therapy practice, and I'm always committed to expanding my knowledge and skills through supervision and continued professional development.
I hold a strong belief in the profound impact of relationships on every facet of our existence – from our emotional and physical health to our capacity for learning and performance at work. That's why I strive to cultivate a therapeutic environment where clients feel secure to explore deeply personal matters.
In therapy, my goal is to empower clients, guiding them to discover their voice and gain a deeper understanding of their experiences. I foster a mindful curiosity towards emotions and symptoms, encouraging exploration and introspection.
Together, we'll journey towards deeper self-awareness and comprehension of your emotional expression, paving the way for personal growth and healing. counsellor
